The Label Portal, for Label Staff

Who this is for

You own or administer a label account on keysig and want to know what the portal does and where its edges are.

Getting a label account

Label accounts are set up by keysig, not self-serve. The Billing page's Label plan has a Contact us button; keysig creates the label, names its owner and sets its seats. Staff sign-ins land on the label portal at keysig.co/label, which has five pages: Roster, Templates, Agreements, Tracks and Settings.

The roster

• Add artist takes a name and an email and sends an invitation under the label's name. If the email does not go out, Copy invite link gives you the same link to send yourself. Resend sends it again.

What happens next: the artist opens the invitation, signs in or signs up with that email, reads what joining means, and joins. Their row shows as pending until then.

• An invitation is tied to the email it was sent to. If the artist signed up with a different address they can ask you to move it; the roster shows the request, and Approve moves the invitation there and retires the old link.
• Each artist row shows their usage this month against their monthly limit, and, when it applies, how many credits went on private work: agreements the artist created as personal work, which the label pays for under its plan and cannot see.
• Remove takes an artist off the roster. They keep everything in their account; you keep read-only access to the agreements created under the label while they were a member. Re-invite sends a fresh invitation later.
• Seats and per-artist limits are set with keysig; the roster says how many seats are in use and has a Contact us link to change either.

Templates

The Templates page has two parts.

The label's own templates. Upload your own agreement as a Word or text file with bracketed blanks, tell keysig which blanks are the signing parties, preview the flow an artist will see, and publish. Publishing needs an acknowledgment, recorded with your name and the time: that the text is the label's own, that its legal content is the label's responsibility, including review by the label's own counsel, and that keysig provides the drafting and signing workflow, not the words. Every agreement drafted from a label template says so, in the app and on the signed PDF. Unpublish hides a template from the roster without deleting it.

Agreement types. For keysig's built-in templates you can recommend types and order them, which is guidance, or switch a type off for label work, with a note the artist sees. A switched-off type stays available to your artists as personal work; the label controls label work only.

Agreements and Tracks

Agreements lists every agreement created under the label, with its artist, type and status, read-only. Tracks is the catalogue: every track covered by at least one label agreement, with its parties, identifiers and any paperwork gaps, and an export of the ownership details as CSV. Nothing created as personal work appears on either page.

Settings

The owner can rename the label. Plan status and seats are shown here and changed with keysig.

Ownership transfers and closing the label

Both are done by keysig at your request: email hello@keysig.co. Ownership can move to an active member of the roster; the previous owner keeps administrator access. Closing a label refiles every agreement created under it as its artist's personal work, keeps its usage history, and tells the owner and every artist. A label owner cannot delete their own keysig account while they own the label; transfer or close it first.

What staff cannot do

• Read, edit or delete anything an artist created as personal work.
• Edit or delete any artist's agreements, even label ones.
• Change per-artist limits, add seats, or close the label from the portal.
• Confirm an artist's email, sign for anyone, or send on an artist's behalf from the portal. Sending on behalf of someone is done from a regular account, as Sending for signing describes.
