Getting Started with keysig

Who this is for

You just made a keysig account, or you are about to, and you want to know what it does and where things are.

What keysig is

keysig turns music-industry agreements into a guided form. You answer plain-language questions, keysig writes the agreement, everyone signs by email, and the signed copy stays in your account. Draft to sent takes about 3 minutes.

keysig is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Its templates are a starting point. Have anything that matters reviewed by a lawyer before you sign it.

Creating an account

1. Go to keysig.co and choose Sign up. If you would rather see it work first, draft a demo agreement: you fill in an agreement with no account, and create one when you want to save it.
2. Pick how you will sign in. You can set a password, or ask for an emailed link and skip the password entirely. Both work the same afterwards, and you can add a password later.
3. Enter your full name and email. Your name goes onto agreements as Party 1, so use the name you sign with.
4. Finish account setup. keysig asks for your legal name, the name you go by, your roles (artist, producer, manager and so on; pick every one that applies), and a few optional questions about your label, publisher, manager and royalty registrations. Those answers become your Legal Key, and keysig fills them into every agreement so you type them once.

What happens next: you land on your dashboard, keysig sends a welcome email, and a separate email asks you to confirm your address. If you started from the demo, the agreement you drafted is saved to your account and opens in front of you.

Confirming your email

Confirming your email unlocks exactly one thing: when someone sends an agreement to your address for signing, it opens inside your keysig account, read-only, under Shared with you. Everything else works without confirming: drafting, sending, signing, billing.

If you signed in with an emailed link, that already counts as confirmation. Otherwise tap the link in the confirmation email. You can send it again from the notice at the top of the app, or from Account under Email confirmation.

Your dashboard

The dashboard has three sections, one per status:

• Drafts. Agreements you are still working on. Nothing has been sent.
• Pending. Agreements out for signature. Each one shows who it is waiting on.
• Signed. Agreements everyone has signed. The signed PDF lives here, and downloading it is always free.

Above them sits your Legal Key strip. Hover or tap an item to see the deal terms keysig fills in for you. If someone has sent you an agreement to sign, a card on the dashboard leads you to it.

Where everything lives

• Dashboard. Your agreements by status, at a glance.
• Templates. Start a new agreement. New agreement takes you here too.
• Agreements. Everything you have drafted, sent or signed, with filters, search and sort. Agreements other people sent you sit under Shared with you.
• Tracks. The recordings your agreements are about, one page each.
• Collaborators. Your address book. A saved collaborator fills their details into a form with one tap.
• Under your name: Profile (your Legal Key), Glossary, Billing, Account (email, password, email confirmation, your label, exports and deletion) and Contact us.
• The bell is your notifications: signatures, reminders you set, and tracks you flagged as needing paperwork.
